Reproduction WW2 M4 Protective Ointment Box.
This box held a tube with ointment to neutralize vesicant gasses or sprays that got in contact with the skin. It was carried inside the bag with the new lightweight gas mask. A box of ointment was also carried inside the rubberized bag for the assault gas mask used on D-day.
This sturdy box, made from corrugated B-flute cardboard, consists of an outer sleeve and two telescoping inserts. In addition there is a small collar that fits around the neck of the tube of ointment to prevent it from bouncing around.
This is for one empty box only.
